You will be floating in the Secret Lagoon, a natural hot spring, located in the small village of Fludir. It is the oldest swimming pool in Iceland made in 1891 and its water holds at 38-40 Celsius (100-104 Fahrenheit) all year. It has wonderful natural surroundings and steam rising into the air, giving it an unbelievable magical feeling. It takes around 90 minutes to drive to the Secret Lagoon from Reykjavik.
Listen to relaxing music on our underwater loudspeakers
You are not only having the time of your life floating in the Secret Lagoon while watching the aurora borealis in the winter or the midnight sun in the summer, but you are also going to enjoy listening to relaxing Icelandic music on our underwater loudspeaker.
The Northern Lights are difficult to see because they are a natural phenomena. Therefore, it is wise to plan on enjoying the evening doing some other activities and only look at the Northern Lights as a nice bonus. This is why going for floating tour to the Secret Lagoon is a wise choice.
Nourished body and satisfied soul needs local delicatessen
The after floating experience is a combination of three things:
Taste geothermal baked bread
Day before the tour we make the dough and bury in the geothermal ground at the Secret Lagoon. When we arrive we go and dig up the bread so you can taste it with the egg you boil in Vaðmálahver hot spring.
Boil an egg in a hotspring
We will give you a pole with a egg in a bag to boil your own egg that you will then enjoy fresh with rye bread after the floating experience.
Fermented shark & Black Death
With the bread and the egg you will get the traditional Icelandic pairing - fermented shark and Black Death snaps. This pair is known as “hardcore food” and “not for beginners.”
